A Grand Monday Morning

Playing until Monday morning, a grand slam from Isaiah Thomas in the top of the 11th lifted Vanderbilt past Georgia Tech, 14-11.

Pregame in the Batting Cage

On Sunday night Vanderbilt prepared for its fourth consecutive regional championship game. The Commodores claimed the Nashville Regional crown in 2019 and the Clemson Regional titles in 2017 and 2018.

Corbin Super Again

For the 10th time at Vanderbilt, head coach Tim Corbin guided his team to an NCAA Super Regional.

Vanderbilt secured its ninth Super Regional trip in the last 11 tournaments.

Starting Fast

Enrique Bradfield Jr. got the Commodores a 1-0 lead in the top of first as he drew a leadoff walk, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher and scored on a Jack Bulger sacrifice fly.

Reilly on the Bump

Freshman Patrick Reilly made his first NCAA start and went 4.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on four hits and six strikeouts.

Keegan Full Extension

First baseman Dominic Keegan caught a foul line drive from Tres Gonzalez to end the second inning.

Vanderbilt Record for Bradfield

In the top of the third, Bradfield Jr. stole second and third base to give him a Vanderbilt NCAA Tournament single-game record three total swipes.

Inching Back

After Georgia Tech scored three in the bottom of the first to go up 3-1, Vanderbilt cut it to a one-run game in the top of the third.

Bradfield scored from third on a Keegan double to left center.

Even

After sending Georgia Tech down in order in the bottom of the third, Troy LaNeve tied the game at 3-3 with a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth.

Lead Secured

With two outs in the top of the fourth, Bradfield Jr. slapped a double down the left-field line that drove in Parker Noland and Jayson Gonzalez (below) to put Vandy in front 5-3.

With the win, the Commodores improved to 24-9 in their last 33 postseason (SEC and NCAA Tournament) games.

Pushing the Lead to Four

Consecutive singles by LaNeve and Isaiah Thomas plated Keegan and CJ Rodriguez, respectively, in the seventh for a 7-3 lead.

Lee at the Hawk

Among those in attendance Sunday night was Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

8-8 in the Eighth

After Georgia Tech took an 8-7 lead in the fifth, Gonzalez evened the score at 8-8 with a leadoff homer in the eighth.

Into the Nashville Night

Keegan's solo home run in the eighth put Vanderbilt ahead 9-8, but a Georgia Tech solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth sent the game to extra innings.

Grand Slam

Isaiah Thomas' grand slam proved to be the difference in extra innings, sending the Commodores to the super regional.

Supers Sealed

With the game-tying run in the on-deck circle following Georgia Tech two runs in the bottom of the 11th, Nick Maldonado came in for the final out to seal Vanderbilt's Super Regional trip.
