Vanderbilt completed its first scrimmage of the spring Saturday inside the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.
"The offensive line is going to be the unit that makes our team go. There has to be an identity developed in that room. We’re making strides in that respect.
"That group has to have the identity, mindset and attitude day in and day out to do the hard things the right way, and to do them full throttle. We’ll develop that through spring. I’m excited for them to hone in on that personality."
~ Head coach Clark Lea
"That quarterback room is really strong. It’s a strong group of personalities. They all desire to be leaders. They have the right demeanor.
"Each one of them needs to grow and mature within the offense. I’m pleased with all those guys."
"I thought all four running backs competed hard today. I was really pleased with some of the big plays on offense through the run game. I saw toughness. It’s a good group of guys."
"Early on, those first couple drives went down into the tight red zone. I saw a defense that was fighting for every blade of grass.
"That to me is a level of competitiveness we can build on. I was very pleased with that."
