Commodores down Valparaiso for season-opening victory

The Dores hit the hardwood for the first time in the 2020-21 season to warm up before taking on Valparaiso.

Vanderbilt put together a solid stretch when it needed it most late Friday and pulled away from visiting Valparaiso 77-71 at Memorial Gymnasium.

Evans (16) and Pippen Jr. (25) each finished in double figures to lead 10 Commodores in the scoring column.
